Wonu who moved on after L’Espace closed down to set up her own store, Meidei, an uptown bohemian retail concept store, now also runs a luxury handbag making company called Apàárt. Derived from the words, ‘Akpa’ which means ‘bag’ in Igbo and incidentally ‘arm’ in Yoruba and ART because bag making is an art, the logo of the bag is also derived from the ancient Nsibidi script of Eastern Nigeria. The Apàárt bag has grown in the nine months since it made its debut, become a must have for the discerning woman.
