Even though Nelly’s rape victim has dropped all charges against the hip hop artist and may not testify against the rapper, the case however still remains open for police who have decided to continue with the investigation. The law enforcement sources revealed that police in Auburn, Washington will be pushing on with the investigation despite the original accuser choosing to no longer co-operate with the case. The 21-year-old woman is reportedly refusing to testify after suffering from severe backlash from the rapper’s fans for speaking out about him.
The attorney says her client has told the Auburn PD and the King County D.A. that she wants to put a halt to the criminal investigation of Nelly and will not testify further in a criminal proceeding against him, after she felt the system failed her. Auburn police are reportedly still collecting evidence with plans to present the case to the prosecutor’s office.
The 42-year-old rap star was arrested in the early hours of Saturday October 7 and released later that day without charge.
