Veteran actor, Olumide Bakare is dead. According to his personal assistant, Bakare died in the early hours of Saturday on his way to the hospital. Recall that it was published that the Veteran actor was critically ill and was on admission at the University College Hospital (UCH), Ibadan, Oyo State.

 His medical condition was not improving due to a heart and lung related illness diagnosed by medical experts, adding that he was in need of financial aid to cater for his worsening health. It was gathered that he needed about N30,000 daily for diagnosis after having spent over a million naira on medical expenses. He reached out to well meaning Nigerians for financial help to help him deal with this ailment.

But he eventually had a surgery which was successful and thereafter talked to people and told them he was fine. But two hours later, he passed on. He was 65 years old. A trained thespian, Olumide gave his all and was committed to the theatre profession. He started on stage and then from there, went on TV, did radio and then film which was where he settled. He rose to fame for his role as Chief Koko on the TV soap, ‘Oluwa Langbe Lodge’.
