Former First lady, Udy Umondak loses only child

Former First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Uduak Abasi Umondak, is in grief as a result of the death of her only child, 40 year old Victoria Nkanga Herman.

Former First Lady of Akwa Ibom State, Uduak Abasi Umondak, is in grief as a result of the death of her only child, 40 year old Victoria Nkanga Herman. Vitoria who was an only child to the Udy Umondak, a former fashion designer, former actress turned television talk show host, suffered cardiac arrest in the United States where she lived and never recovered from it. She died on October 2nd 2017. Victoria’s father was Nsikak Nkanga, the former Military governor of Akwa Ibom state.

She was since been buried. Her funeral service took place on Monday, 9 October, 2017, at Capital Christian Fellowship, 10411 Greenbelt, Lanham, Maryland, USA while the interment took place at National Harmony Memorial Park, 7101 Sheriff Road, Landover. She is survived by her husband and a son.

A very colourful character, Udy Abasi Umondak,  was First Lady between 1991 and 1992 is still a head turner even as she inches towards 60 later this year. Having successfully run the faith based television talk show, ‘His Word Made Flesh’, a TV programme that regaled audiences with inspiring stories of conquest of the human spirit over seemingly daunting circumstances, for six  years, she decided it was time to rebrand with a self styled talk show, ‘The Udy Factor’.


Victoria Nkanga Herman
