A Twitter user, Miss Posha, has raised the alarm about the death of her friend, one Crystabel, who allegedly died at a clinic in Lagos, where she had gone to do a plastic surgery.

Lamenting the death of her friend, Miss Posha tweeting via #poshcupcake_1 said, ”I want to bring this to the public, A friend just died at this hospital in Lagos Nigeria, few days ago. where she underwent surgery.

“Now I’m not against anybody that want to enhance their body or anything as such, it’s your body life and choice, so do what you love but I’m against doctors that claim they have experience abroad, come down to Nigeria to kill young people.

“After the surgery, she complained of bleeding and the doctors claimed it is normal, it will stop. Now this is the problem. How are you a highly skilled and professional plastic surgeon with experience abroad and someone you finish operating on, complained about bleeding and you said it is normal it will stop?”

Miss Posha added that after her friend died, the clinic didn’t contact her family, until friends traced her to the clinic and were told to pick her body from the mortuary.

She said, “Hospital did not find it needful to contact any of her relatives. Until the few friends who knew she was going for surgery said she was supposed to have been back, they decided to go to the hospital to check on her; on arrival, they were offered a letter that her body has been deposited at the mortuary. This is sickening.”

Miss Posha called on the government to do more to curb the sharp practices in the healthcare sector.

Despite her ranting, the Twitter user refused to name the hospital.

This isn’t the first time that a death will occur in a Lagos clinic over a body enhancement procedure.

In.2020, a wealthy businessman and a former People Democratic Party governosrship aspirant in Bayelsa State, Keneibi Okoko died due to power outage during a tummy tuck surgery in a Lagos hospital.

In same 2020 a controversial cosmetics surgeon, Dr Anu Adepoju was suspended from the medical profession in Nigeria following multiple claims of malpractice and botched surgeries at her clinic, Med Contour.

A number of women who went to Med Contour for cosmetic surgery complained about having complications that they still suffer from.

One particular patient was rushed to LUTH and eventually died after being operated on by Anu.

Her suspension was facilitated by the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission, FCCPC.
