A twitter poll organised by Television Continental on who is likely to emerge the flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress in its forth coming presidential primaries, has been deleted.

The tweet was deleted after 1,721 individuals voted, with Osinbajo leading with 43 per cent and Bola Ahmed Tinubu trailing him, having garnered 40 per cent of the votes.

Ahead of the ruling All Progressives Congress’ presidential primary, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo has been tipped as the frontrunner ahead of Bola Tinubu for the party’s ticket in a now-deleted poll conducted by a television station, TVC.

Ex-transport minister Rotimi Amaechi and Senate President Ahmad Lawan were also listed in the poll.

On its official Twitter account on Wednesday, the TV station, apparently controlled by Tinubu, held an APC primary-themed poll, ‘Now that Atiku has emerged as the PDP presidential candidate, who should the APC field as their flag bearer?’

The tweet was deleted after 1,721 individuals voted, with Osinbajo leading with 43 per cent. Tinubu trailed him, having garnered 40 per cent of the votes. Lawan had nine per cent, and Mr Amaechi had eight per cent.

Osinbajo and Tinubu have continued to make a case why each should be Nigeria’s next president. Once allies, their presidential ambition has drawn a wedge between the two politicians, with Tinubu disowning Osinbajo’s presidential ambition.

On the other hand, the vice president insisted he had, had enough of being a sidekick to political heavyweights like Tinubu and President Muhammadu Buhari as he fights to be his own man.
