Years after ending his age-long relationship with interior decorator, Gail Fajembola, businessman and former chairman of defunct Skye Bank, Tunde Ayeni, is currently enmeshed in a paternity mess.
Ayeni is alleged to have fathered a child, a baby girl, with one of his mistresses, Adaobi Alagwu, a claim he has blatantly refused to accept.
Adaobi is a 30-year-old Abuja-based lawyer, who is reportedly a former classmate of Ayeni’s only daughter.
Ironically, Ayeni broke the unspoken gentleman code when he snatched Adaobi from his long time bosom friend, Greg Uanseru, a billionaire businessman, who plays big in the oil and gas sector.
Although Ayeni had earlier denied the paternity of the child, details have, however, emerged suggesting otherwise.
Adaobi and Ayeni reportedly met in 2019 and dated briefly, but the relationship ended on Ayeni’s prompting and he, thereafter, moved on with his life.
Ayeni now claims that it came as a highly traumatising and rude shock to him when despite moving on from Adaobi, rumours became rife within the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja, of a paternity row between him and Ada.
Having realised his folly, he has attempted to shut down the rumour, describing it as a blatant lie.
However, a relative of Adaobi claims that at the time Ayeni dated her, it was no secret, as he flaunted her openly with no regard for his family and friends then.
The relative claims Ayeni was so smitten with Adaobi that he gifted her a building in Abuja, out of fear he might lose her.
He also purchased a choice property for her mother to live in.
This act of his, the relative says, drove his daughter to shame, as while his daughter was struggling, he set up Adaobi’s chambers situated at 36, Birao Street, Wuse 2, off Adetokunbo Ademola Street in Abuja.
Continuing, the relative claims Ayeni gifted Adaobi a multi-million naira Range Rover from his fleet of cars and was constantly at her office, even in the full glare of his hardworking staff next block.
The relative added that Ayeni has spent the last six years chasing Adaobi and that during those times, his businesses suffered.
Perhaps a case in point being the defunct Skye Bank, which he ran aground with unpaid loans and Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company, which was almost taken over by the federal government over default in Loan Service Agreement.
However, Adaobi has vowed to drag Ayeni through the mud until he takes full responsibility for his child, as she claims he was the one who encouraged her to get pregnant with several people as witnesses to this.
She wondered why he would want to deny the paternity of the child when as recent as early last year, she was a constant face at his Solween house as she lived with him in his Rhine street address.
According to SaharaReporters, Adaobi also revealed that many times in the past, she had actually walked out of the relationship only for Ayeni to run to her mother and other family members on bended knees to beg for her to return to him.
If there is one person who will be so pained about this latest shameful development, that person will be Ayeni’s long-suffering wife, Bola, who is a fashion designer.
Bola can only lament behind closed doors, but will remain with Ayeni and continue to tolerate him as the ever supportive wife.
