Despite tackling with the high mortality of his citizens as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, United States President, Donald Trump has promised to send ventilators to Nigeria over rising coronavirus cases in Nigeria.

According to the Minister of Health, Lai Mohammed, Trump promised to send ventilators to Nigeria. He stated that the US president was in a conference meeting with President Buhari which lasted for several minutes and that the discussion between the leaders was centred on Nigeria’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic.

“During the meeting, President Buhari used the opportunity to brief the American President on the steps that Nigeria is taking to contain the spread of the disease. On his part, President Trump assured that the United States stands in solidarity with Nigeria in this difficult time and promised to send ventilators to support the country in its fight against the pandemic,” Mohammed said.
