Going by ex-footballer, Kanu Nwankwo’s wife, fitness expert and interior decorator, Amara Kanu’s recent outburst, it looks like all may not be well with the Kanu clan. A few days ago, Amara who spends most of her time in London had openly insulted her inlaw, Ogbonna, younger brother to her husband, Nwankwo and husband to fashion entrepreneur, Laura Ikeji, on social media. Not known to be publicity hungry, preferring instead to concentrate on raising her family, building her business and getting an education, Amara had lashed out her inlaw for stealing pictures of a match ticket, a Premiership club Leeds United she had posted on her social media page for her children which he passed off as his, giving the impression that he was the one going to watch the football match. He posted same picture on his social media with the caption, “Leeds united game today. Am there live.” Unfortunately that act backfired as Amara lashed out on him in the comment section. She said “You are a coward and liar. That’s my son’s ticket. He was supposed to follow his dad to the Leeds game today but no. You have never allowed Kanu to be in peace with his family. You tried that with me all these years thinking I will die and now you want to come near my children. You can’t. You won’t.”
She then went on to heap insults on him calling him, “Oloshi oloriburuku. Borrow pose. @ogbobekee1, don’t mess with my children’s things or their dad.”
Embarrassed, Ogbonna had no choice but to delete the post. From her outburst, it was obvious that her inlaw, Ogbonna had for a long time been a torn in her flesh including that of her husband and her children and she therefore felt the need to finally put him in check after tolerating his excesses all these years. A few days after, perhaps due to the outburst, both Nwankwo Kanu and his wife, Amara unfollowed each other on their social media pages. Mum has been the word from both camps since the incidence.
