A Ghanaian Superintendent of Police, Mr. Joseph Oppong, has suggested Tonto Dikeh might have been economical with the truth in her claims that her estranged husband, Olakunle Oladunni Churchill, abused her in Ghana. The actress had, in an interview, claimed that she was beaten by Churchill and had to seek refuge at the Nigerian Embassy in Ghana. But, Oppong denied this, saying Dikeh was arrested for destroying Churchill’s properties worth $20,000.
In an interview with Ghanaian Joy News, Oppong refuted claims by Tonto Dikeh that she sought refuge at the Nigerian Embassy when Churchill beat her up in Ghana. The actress claimed she was naked. Oppong said Churchill filed a complaint at the Madina Divisional Police Office that Tonto Dikeh vandalised his properties at his Trassaco home in Accra, Ghana on June 9, 2015.
Oppong said that neighbours confirmed she came in with a bottle of vodka around 3am, most likely drunk, adding the actress nearly killed one of the house helps, who tried to restrain her, when she shot at her with Churchill’s gun.
He said she attested to doing this in her written statement.
