The biggest stars from both film and television gathered on Sunday night to celebrate their performances in various categories at the 24th edition of the Screen Actors Guild Awards, SAG with actress Kristen Bell as the host. It was the first time the ceremony would be having a host as it has always been an award show without an MC. Also the presenters were almost all female in a bid to continue with the issue of representation for women in the work place. The subtle tone of the #Metoo and #Time’sUp movement was also not lost at the ceremony. One of the most outstanding part of the evening was actor, Sterling K Brown’s double win. First for becoming the first African American to win the Best Actor in a drama series for ‘This is Us’ as well as the series winning the Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series award. Also veteran actor, philanthropist and educator, Morgan Freeman was given the SAG Lifetime Achievement Award.
