Popular Lagos socialite and skincare entrepreneur, Farida Abdulkabir, has been over come with grief following the crash of her two months old marriage.

Farida claims the marriage which was a big society one that had King Wasiu Ayinde Marshal on the bandstand cost her a whooping N100 million.

This led her to attempt to commit suicide by wanting to take a dive into the lagoon on the Third Mainland Bridge.

Farida who is also the owner of House of Phreedah cited frustrations, failed marriage and many others as what propelled her action on Thursday night.

Farida and Demola had been in an on and off relationship for years and only decided to tie the knot after Demola completed his jail term in America and returned home.

The marriage however packed up after Farida accused Demola of cheating on her with a certain Yemisi Fasawe who is a married woman, constantly body shaming her, always telling her she has the body of an 80 year old woman and his inability to have an erection.

Demola in his attempt to defend himself accused her of equally cheating on him and being fetish. He also accused her of not being truthful with him about the state of her womb which he claimed was non existent while also adding that she is unable to take care of her body which has prevented him from having an erection.

Following the suicide attempt, she was seen being pacified to desist from jumping in a viral video, while rescuers were assuring her there was no need to take her life before she was whisked away into her vehicle and taken to an undisclosed destination.

As a fallout of her crashed marriage, Farida who could not endure depression decided to end her life.

She said, “Friends and families warned me not to go into the marriage. They told me that the man only wanted my money but I was recalcitrant.

“I am so sorry for putting my children in such a position. I would not have forgiven myself if I had abandoned them after committing suicide.”
