Socialite and a former officer of the Nigerian Customs Service, Mrs Chinyere Ngonadi popularly known as Big Chi, is dead. She died on Tuesday, October 27th, 2020 and barely a month to her 40th wedding anniversary to husband, Sir Okechukwu Nelson Ngonadi
She died in the United States of America where she had gone to visit her children and grand children. She reportedly died of heart attack after complaining of chest pain one morning. An ambulance was called to ferry her to the hospital but she gave up the ghost before she got to the hospital.
While she was alive, Big Chi was a top official in the Nigeria Custom and held sway at the Tin Can Port in Apapa, Lagos area. She would later get transferred to the Calabar office of the Nigeria Custom after some people got uncomfortable with her meteoric rise in the system. She eventually retired in 2012.
