Nigerian music super star, Sir Shina Peters recently clocked 60 years and the legendary afro juju singer, who was a massive sensation the 80s and early 90s went all out to celebrate the milestone. He threw a massive party at the Balmoral Convention Centre, Federal Palace Hotel, Lagos where the crème de la crème of society honoured him. Popularly called SSP, Sir Shina Peters who started music at a very young age released his first album ‘Ace’ (Afro-Juju Series 1) in 1989. The album which was released under CBS Records of Nigeria went double platinum and was the career breakthrough that catapulted him into limelight. Before then, he served apprenticeship under Chief Ebenezer Obey and later joined General Prince Adekunle’s band where he learned to play the guitar and the piano.
