Not many are aware that Kingsley Okonkwo, more popularly known as Kcee – the star of Five Star Music Label and the Vice President of Five Star Group, is married and has been for 10 years. Many assume he is still single because unlike his younger brother, wealthy businessman and President of Five Star Group, Emeka, who shows off his own wife at every given opportunity, Kcee is not one to show off his wife or his two children; Sommy and Kanye for any reason.
Kcee has never been photographed with his wife, Ijeoma and even when they are sighted at events which is on very rare occasions, both of them behave like complete strangers; leaving many to wonder if all is well with their marriage. They come separately and leave separately and avoid being photographed together.
A most recent example was when his older brother celebrated his birthday last month amidst family and friends. Even though his wife was at the party, both of them behaved like total strangers and were only ever photographed together in just one picture which was a group photograph. While Kcee was at one end of the photograph, his wife was at the other end of it.
Infact, for the past nine years of their marriage, they both never celebrate each other on their birthdays like their fellow celebrities and while his wife who is an event planner would celebrate their two children on their individual birthdays, Kcee would rather be caught dead than do likewise.
What further lent credence to the fact that there was a strain in their union, is the fact that he was said to have reignited his relationship with actress, Ebube Nwagbo, who was his girlfriend shortly before he got married to Ijeoma whom he proposed to when she was just 19. Even though both were careful not to be seen together, Kcee according to reliable sources was said to have not gotten over her even after his marriage.
Well, it looks like Kcee is all out to make his marriage work as the singer who clocks 41 today chose to celebrate his wife and two children in a manner like never before, calling them his greatest fortune and backbone. While blaming his career as a singer for his absence in their lives, he heaped praises on his wife saying he wouldn’t hesitate to marry her all over if he had to do it again in another life.
Many of his colleagues are pleasantly surprised and are applauding this bold move.
