Ex-Senator Ishaku Elisha Abbo, from Adamawa State has described the present Senate under the leadership of Senator Godwill Akpabio as nothing but a unit operating under the presidency.

Abbo said that the Senate has been reduced to a gossip blog.

“How can a senator stand up in the hallowed chamber of the Senate and start reading his private chat between him and Senator Natasha? It is a shame,” he said.

He added, “It pains me to speak ill of an organisation that brought me to national limelight, but I must speak the truth on the happenings in the present Senate. The Senate today is dead. It is just a unit, not even a department under the presidency. It is no longer an arm of government again,” he further stated.

The ex-senator who equally accused Senate President Akpabio of being vindictive, pointed out that the Natasha/Akpabio sex scandal allegation was poorly handled by the Senate President.

“Akpabio should submit himself for investigations. I was also accused of the same issue, but instead of going to court, I went to the Berekete radio and tv station to clarify myself, and the people’s court cleared me after hearing my own side of the story. If I had gone to court, they will say that I bribed the judge. So I said let me go to the people’s court. Akpabio has a case to answer before Nigerians,” Abbo insisted.

He alleged that Akpabio has turned himself into an emperor, hunting any senator who opposes his views.

“I was a victim because I did not vote for him. Senator Ndume was also a victim. Senator Abdul Ningi from Bauchi State was also suspended and many others who stood on the lane of truth,” he insisted.

According to the politician, “the Senate President is a threat to President Bola Tinubu’s administration, pointing out that Akpabio is not only a political risk to his party, but that he has wrecked the image of Nigeria’s democracy. Natasha should continue to campaign internationally until women go after this monster,” Abbo said.
