The senate committee on Ethics and Privileges is to investigate allegations levelled against the Senate President, Dr. Bukola Saraki and Senator Dino Melay.

The allegations are of irregularities of car importation with fake duty level against Saraki and to also probe Dino Melaye over the alleged certificate scandal.

Senator Ali Ndume, former Senate leader from Borno State where EFCC’s Ibrahim Magu hails from, raised the issue and gave reference that leaders of the National Assembly previously like the former Speaker from Kano State, Salisu Buhari,

Dimeji Bankole and Aminu Bello Masari, as well as that of former senate presidents, Adolphus Wabara and Evan Enwerem, were all investigated when issues of similar case were brought up against them in the floor of the chamber.

The committee has four weeks to submit its reports.
