Saraki, Ekweremadu visit female Sergeant-at-Arms injured during Senate invasion

The Senate president, Dr. Abubakar Bukola Saraki and Deputy Senate president, Ike Ekweremadu, over the weekend visited the female Sergeant-At-Arms, Sandra Davou who was injured during the Senate invasion of last week when the Mace was stolen at her Bwari Area Council home of the Federal Capital Territory. Sandra and her colleagues struggled to stop the thugs who invaded the Senate. Davou who was hospitalized after the invasion is presently recuperating. Saraki commended Davou and her colleagues who had put up a spirited fight to prevent the invaders from gaining access to the Senate Chambers. He also commended his deputy, Ike Ekweremadu and all his colleagues who successfully took charge and safeguarded the National Assembly and the nation’s democracy. He said that the visit was meant to thank and show appreciation to Davou and her colleagues for their hard work, commitment and courage. Saraki was away in Washington on an official assignment when the invasion happened. He described the day of the invasion, as a “sad day”  and “disgrace” for the nation’s democracy and called for unity and firmness to eliminate all such undemocratic tendencies.
