Following the very obvious snub of a few promising movies at the 74th Golden Globes awards nomination, the Screen Actors Guild Awards made up for that by nominating British actress, Naomie Harries for her role in ‘Moonlight’, Viola Davies for her role in ‘Fences’ and Oscar winner, Octavia Spencer for her role in ‘Hidden Figures’. All three actress were nominated in a supporting role category, making it the first time in 10 years that a majority of the category’s nominees are people of color. The 23rd annual SAG awards will air on January 29th 2017.
