Tinuade Sanda, a former managing director of Eko Electricity Distribution Company (EKDC) who was recently relieved of her duties, has been honoured with the ‘Energy Icon of the Year’ award at the 12th annual Vanguard Personality of the Year Award, which took place at Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos.
She was honoured with the award for her remarkable contributions to the energy sector and her commitment to advancing Nigeria’s power industry.
In her acceptance speech, Sanda expressed her gratitude to Vanguard Newspapers for the recognition and dedicated the award to her team, the entire workforce and Board of Directors of Eko Electricity Distribution Company.
“I am deeply honoured to receive this award. It is a testament to the hard work and dedication of my team and the support from the Board of Directors and other stakeholders in the sector. I’m looking forward to even greater milestones ahead.
“The energy sector is pivotal to the growth and development of our nation. I believe that with consistent collaboration, we can revitalise the energy sector. Together, we have made significant strides, and I am confident that we will continue to achieve even greater milestones”, she stated.
