Earlier this month, Pastor Wale Adefarasin, the general overseer of the Guiding Light Assembly, Ikoyi, Lagos, joined the septuagenarian club when he clocked 70. The ceremony which was without fanfare started with a church service where the celebrant, some members of his congregation, friends and family members including his son. Adeolu who is also an ordained pastor, gathered in his church building to give praises and thanks unto God for sparing his life in good health.
Some of those present at the ceremony were sports broadcasters, Aisha Falode, society women, Sade Balogun. Genny Adeosun, Lawunmi Bibilari, Nay Yakubu etc.
But conspicuously missing were his two younger siblings who are also labourers in the vine yard; Apostle Yemi Adefarasin and the most popular and youngest of the three brothers, Pastor Paul Adefarasin. While Pastor Paul runs House on the Rock Church, Lagos, Apostle Yemi who isn’t the most laid back of the three, pastors Kingdom Lifeline Apostolic Ministries, Abuja. Before moving to Abuja, he was for many years the senior pastor of Action Worship Center in Benin Republic.
While it is understandable why Apostle Yemi couldn’t make it to the birthday celebration, since he is based in Abuja (not really an excuse anyway), one wonders why Pastor Paul couldn’t make out time to attend his older brother’s celebration. For someone who likes to celebrate others on his social media handle, to say that it is worrisome he didn’t celebrate his brother on his social media page, would be simply putting it mildly. Even his wife, Ifeanyi didn’t deem it fit to celebrate her inlaw.
