Not many people know that the Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Ogunwusi has a 25 year old daughter, Princess Adeola Aanuoluwapo Ogunwusi who he had when he was still a college student. He however never got married to the mother of his daughter, leaving many to wonder at who his baby mama really is.
The young lady who has a first degree graduate of Warwick University, with a Masters programme at the University College, London in Urban Economic Development is his only daughter as his first and second marriages never produced a child and his third marriage is yet to produce one as well.
Well, now people no longer have to wonder as the baby mama, Omolara Olatunbosun has just made herself public with the release of photographs of herself and her daughter via a photoshoot she had for her 45th birthday a few months ago.
Talking about her mum, Adeola said, “My mum is amazing. The relationship I have with both parents is quite similar really. I see my dad as that very supportive best friend and my mum as that older sister who has my back no matter what. She’s my cheerleader and the absolute best.”
Omolara Olatunbosun, who gave birth to her while she was 20 and while the Ooni of Ife was 19. The first time the Ooni of Ife publicly talked about having a child was during his daughter’s NYSC in Abuja in 2016.
“At the age of 19, I fathered a child, which made the matter more complicated. Life was very tough because I had to cater for my child; but that made me to work harder. Today, I am very proud to say that she is one of the present batch of corps members in Abuja now. That experience shaped my life and made me to keep striving.” he revealed then.
Gushing about their closeness, Adeola says “My dad and I are close, it’s easy you know because he’s really cool and he just gets it. I couldn’t have asked for a better parent. He’s the best. He’s like a permissive and authoritative dad. So while he allows me to express myself freely, he also values discipline.”
On growing up, Adeola says “I grew up in Ibadan, lived there until I was 14 then I moved to Lagos. I completed my Primary and Secondary School education in Ibadan. I attended Ronk New Age Nursery and Primary School, Livingstone College and United Missionary Comprehensive College (UMCC). After secondary school I got an admission into American University of Nigeria (AUN) but I was only there for a year then I moved to England. I completed my foundation at Warwick University, Bachelor’s degree at the university of Manchester and now, I am currently doing my masters at University College, London.
