The Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi has dismissed rumours about the alleged crash of his 17 month old marriage, saying that he and his wife have a happy marriage.
This dismissal follows the rumour currently making the rounds that the Ooni was on the verge of kicking his wife. Olori Wuraola Zainab Ogunwusi out of his palace due to some unbecoming conduct and was all set to take a new wife.
An online news platform had reported on Sunday that the Ooni’s union had crashed irretrievably adding that the well-celebrated marriage had run its full course. The platform added that inside sources described the marriage as a sham, plagued by suspicion, hatred and devoid of love and accusing the Olori of many unpublishable issues and lack of commitment to her marital vows. It was said that she wasn’t even on speaking terms with her in-laws.
For this, the Olori was said to have scurried to the home of former President Olusegun Obasanjo to intervene and probably advise her husband not to be influenced to dump her like a bad habit and get another wife. However, Obasanjo was said to have been unable to do anything.
Well, an aide of the Ooni has said that there is no truth to the rumour which the Ooni’s palace considered unimaginable adding that the palace would soon issue a statement on the matter. The aide said the palace wasn’t interested in the rumour as there are lots of positive activities happening every minute and as such the palace doesn’t have time to respond to such noise being created by nonentities.
While this is Olori Wuraola’s second marriage, this would be the Ooni’s first as he didn’t solemnize his age long relationship before meeting Olori Wuraola. The union is yet to produce a child.
