A little over a year after the youthful Ooni of Ife, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi parted ways with his second wife, Zainab Wuraola Otiti and without a queen in his domain, the traditional monarch has taken for himself, a new queen. The new Olori is none other than Shilekunola Moronke Naomi Oluwaseyi, a prophetess who is a 7 Day Adventist adherent and the founder of En-Heralds, a prophetic interdenominational ministry based in Akure, Ondo State. The union between 25 year old Naomi Oluwaseyi and the king comes just two days after the monarch celebrated his 44th birthday.

The monarch took to his instagram page to make the announcement saying, “I waited patientlyupon the Almighty King of Kings, he eventually did it in the midst of many trials. Shilekunola Moronke Naomi; the greatest arsenal you can apply on this highly revered throne with many rulkes and regulations, in the midst of un diluted tradition, heritage and culture, is the fear of God in you which is the beginning of your wisdom on this throne of Oduduwa. You are welcome home my beautiful and adorable queen.”

Until his marriage to Naomi Oluwaseyi, the Ooni of Ife was married to a UK based Adebisi Adebukunola Bombata their marriage which happened in 2007 didn’t stand the test of time especially during and after his coronation. Besides the fact that Adebisi was in the habit of disrespecting him, she initially opposed his decision to vie for the throne. Also, she had a no-love lost relationship between her and her sister in-laws. Naturally, when Oba Ogunwusi eventually emerged as the new Ooni of Ife and she tried to assert herself as the queen, his sisters did all they could to keep her away from him. And so after his coronation, the search for a befitting queen began.

The monarch quickly contracted a marriage between himself and Zainab Wuraola Otiti, just two months after meeting her. Their coming together was mired in questionable circumstances; from Zainab reaching out to the monarch in Ife herself, to the monarch being conspicuously absent at his own wedding although he was ably represented by his family, led by his father, Prince Ropo Ogunwusi and his elder brother, Prince Adetunji Ogunwusi. And then issues about her past began to crop up. Apparently, Zainab who is in her mid-30’s, was, until her marriage to the Ooni, was married to a Lebanese, Elie Khouri, a phone repairer whom she met when he  relocated to Abuja to set up a night club.

But before then, she was more or less, married to Saminu Turaki, a former governor of Jigawa State. It was during the period of her affair with Turaki, that she adopted the Muslim name, Zaynab. She got pregnant, fleeced the governor of millions of naira and then claimed the twins she was carrying died at child birth. In no time, she dumped the governor the moment he ran into problems with anti-graft agency, EFCC. She was also said to have been linked with Ahmad Ningi, a former Senator, who represented Bauchi Central in the last dispensation and the former Deputy Majority Leader of the Senate.

With these and several more revelations the palace of the Ooni refused to divulge, the marriage between Zainab and Oba Ogunwusi ended just after a year it was contracted. Perhaps now, with his new queen, one can comfortably say the Oba Adewusi Enitan Ogunwusi has gotten his grove back.
