As part of efforts to make a difference and put smiles on the faces of the less-privileged, Olori Wuraola Ogunwusi, wife of Ooni of Ile-Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, drew attention to the plights of orphans and the less privileged, majorly within the South West region through a charity concert on Friday, February 24th.

Aptly tagged the ‘Give Back Concert’, the concert is a brain child of her Olori Wuraola Orphan Aid Project which is an initiative under the umbrella of House of Oduduwa Foundation, whose sole aim is to empower the less-privileged children in Nigeria, regardless of their cultural and religious affiliations.

Besides the fact that the concert helped to explore the gifts and talents in the less- privileged children and expose them to opportunities capable of launching them into stardom in their various professions, it also created a medium for orphans under the umbrella body to have a sense of belonging.

The funds realized from the concert is expected to be used to enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of the structures, activities and program designs of the selected orphanages, homes and institutions for the less privileged as well as to ensure adequate and proper care for orphaned children.

The performances at the concert which was ably hosted by the duo of R&B singer, Darey Art-Alade and television presenter, Bolanle Olukanni was nothing short of spectacular. From music producer and singer, Cobhams Asuquo, to Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia, to Waje to Darey Art-Alade, to sound Sultan to Lamboghini to Adekunle Gold. Fast rising comedian, Kenny Blaq did a good job of having everyone in stitches with his rib cracking jokes.

To prove that there is ability in disability, orphans from some of the selected orphanages as well as students from the Bethsaida school of the Blind staged some mind-blowing performances. Not one to joke with culture and tradition, the convener of the concert spiced up the concert with some cultural dances and displays.
