Contrary to what was being bandied around the media space, about how the union between designer, Olamide Agunloye, the lady behind Iconola fashion house and her ex husband, Dare Ajayi who also happens to be the brother of former Lux beauty queen turned businesswoman, Ibidunni Ighodalo, was due to Olamide’s inability to be submissive, alleged infidelity and her inability to care for her children, with new information, nothing could be farther from the truth.

The creative designer who relocated a few years ago to Abuja, where she made her brand the choice of many fashionable women in that part of the world, recently opened up to an online platform, Dang Network Monologue, ‘Speak Your Truth’ on the horrific domestic violence she endured in the hands of her ex husband for seven years of their marriage, before she finally summoned up courage to quit the union. Olamide Agunloye confessed that prior to her facing violence in her relationship and then marriage, she was one of those who advocated, passionately against the vice, constantly saying, “If he touches me just once I’m leaving him.”
On many occasions, the mother of three who is also the daughter of Chief Olu Agunloye, a perennial gubernatorial aspirant of Ondo State, confessed she came close to death in the hands of Dare Ajayi but she stayed on, too timid to speak out. She also opened up about the many times she moved out of her matrimonial home and the many more times she kept going back for one reason or the other.
