There is a serious concern over the health of his Royal Majesty, Oba Lekan Balogun, the Olubadan of Ibadan in Oyo State. It was gathered that the traditional ruler has allegedly been battling ill health and has been a constant visitor to the hospital in recent times.

The royal father who was crowned the 42nd Olubadan of Ibadan at the age of 79 years has allegedly been battling old age related aliment. His state of health has allegedly put his subjects in a state of anxiety and worry as to what will happen to their cherished monarch.

This perhaps explains why the monarch was conspicuously absent at his daughter’s wedding in London last month.

This development is coming a few months after the Oba battled people who antagonized him after he was chosen to take over the traditional stool of Ibadan when the former king, Oba Saliu Adetunji died in January 2022. One of the reasons he was opposed was because of his health status.

Being a 79 year old man, the former research fellow at the Ahmadu Bello University  was said to be battling old age related ailment and his accusers considered him unfit to run the daily kingly activities of the third largest populated city in Nigeria. However, a spokesperson of the traditional ruler, Oladele Ogunsola revealed that the Alli Okunmade II is still hale as a fiddle. He added that the king’s health does not call for any form of concern.
