It has been a long mournful season in Nollywood. Just when one thought that the end is in sight for any more mourning, the devastating news of the death of the daughter of veteran Nollywood actress, Remi Surutu hits one like a thunder bolt.

The fair skinned loving actress has lost her daughter, Ayomikun to the cold hands of death. The news of her death was announced by amiable actor, Yomi Fabiyi who played the role of the publicity secretary for the burial committee of his late friend and colleague, Moji Olaiya.

Yomi took to his social media to announce, Remi Surutu’s daughter’s passing with a post that read thus; “Rest in Peace Ayo. May God grant your mum, Remi Surutu, the strength to bear this loss. She did all she could. OMG! Aunty Remi please take heart. Seeing your lifeless body now caused me more pain and it is because I value the friendship we shared. Journey well. In serious pain now.”

Only last two months, likeable actress, Moji Olaiya who passed on from cardiac arrest, a few weeks after giving birth in Canada. Within the period of her death, the make believe world has lost about five other actors including veteran actors, Olumide Bakare who died of respiratory complications; Toyin Majekodunmi otherwise known as Iya Kike; Adesina Adesanya, more popularly known as ‘Pastor Ajidara’ who died of kidney failure.

Others who are not of the Yoruba genre are veteran actor and dancer, Victor Eze who died after a brief illness. The thorough bred thespian who has over 40 years experience in the make believe world. Was more popularly known as ‘Alika’ from the TV comedy series, ‘Fuji House of Commotion’.

Another late actor was Prince James Uche who lost the fight after a protracted battle with diabetes and kidney ailment and also had issues with his eyes. He was billed to go to India for surgery when he gave up the ghost two days before the trip.
