These are obviously not the best of times for veteran Nollywood actor, Ernest Asuzu as the popular actor has now resorted to begging to keep body and soul together. Ernest who was the toast of the silver screen a few years ago, was recently seen by a certain John Louis begging for financial assistance along Oke Alfa road, Isolo, Lagos, shirtless, looking sick with a pot belly and gold necklace.
John Louis who made a video of Ernest, said, “I’m directing this video to Nollywood. This is a star that everybody knows that he is in this kind of condition. We saw him at Justrite asking men for money when he has Nollywood people doing anything they like but they don’t know how to help themselves.
“So we are calling on Nollywood to come and assist their member. It is not only to act film, but this guy also cannot even walk. So they need to come to his aid not when he dies they will come and do big burial for somebody. Even Nigeria’s government needs to back the guy and know what is the problem, thank you.”
This isn’t the first time Ernest would be seen begging for survival. Back in 2015, he was once spotted at Shop Rite in Surulere begging for money. But the begging was as a result of having suffered from partial stroke. Ernest spent all he had on medical treatment which wasn’t even enough to get him healed.
He would later get healed of the stroke when he visited Prophet Jeremiah Omoto Fufeyin of Christ Mercyland Deliverance Ministry, Warri Delta state. The prophet magnanimously gifted him with an SUV and a sum of N1.5m to help him get back on his feet.
Somehow, things haven’t quite work out as Ernest expected as he is now back on the streets begging for survival.
