Group General Manager of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Maikanti Baru has reportedly lost his 18-years old son, Mohammed Kawu to the cold hands of death. The sad event occurred in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on Thursday, May 18th. Mohammed Kawu Baru was said to have since been buried at the Sharjah Emirates Cemetery.

The Architecture student at American University, Sharjah collapsed and died while on the University organized hiking exercise in Fujairah on Thursday. The father, accompanied by Ambassador Nura Rimi and hundreds of members of the Nigerian community in UAE, attended the burial. Dr. Maikanti Baru recently lost his mother and sister.
