This year’s edition of GTBank Fashion Weekend isn’t only expected to be exciting just as the past two previous editions with fashion presentations, retail therapy, and runway shows to close each of the two days of the fashion event, it will be headlined by some of the world’s top fashion personalities, globally recognized brand owners, trend setters, as well as locally renowned designers and style authorities. Like in the last two editions, there will be master classes, providing fashion entrepreneurs the unique opportunity to learn from global industry leaders and experienced brands. These individuals will be addressing challenges and opportunities across the entire industry value chain.
Some of those expected at this year’s event are
British Vogue Editor-at-Large, Julia Sarr-Jamoisin
A London based stylist Julia is the Fashion Editor-at-Large at British Vogue and Senior Fashion Editor-at-Large at i-D. Furthermore, she is a contributor for Teen Vogue, Vogue Italia, Self Service, Double and M Le Monde. Julia regularly works with leading photographers such as Harley Weir, Zoe Ghertner, Angelo Pennetta, LettySchmiterlow, Theo Wenner and Oliver HadleePearch. Julia’s work, which typically plays with unexpected clashes of texture and idiom, has also won her top commercial clients, such as Max Mara, Moschino, Kenzo, Lacoste, Carven, Nike, Stella McCartney and Sonia By Sonia Rykiel. She has also curated personal pop-up shops for British multinational, Topshop, which has over 400 shops across the United Kingdom and other parts of the world.

Burak Cakma, Dean of Parsons School of Design
Burak Cakmak has facilitated successful collaborations for over a decade with a wide range of stakeholders including suppliers, retailers, NGOs, governments, and the media in order to drive positive, ethical industry change. Cakmak was named Dean of Fashion at Parsons in 2015 after working at Swarovski Group as the company’s first Vice President of corporate responsibility where he was instrumental in implementing best practice industry standards across the business. Prior to Swarovski, Cakmak worked at Kering as its first Director of corporate sustainability, spearheading innovation-driven sustainability strategies for the luxury group’s brands including Gucci, Stella McCartney and Buttega Veneta. Cakmak is passionate about education and has established projects and partnerships in the US, UK, France, China, Brazil, and India.

Stavros Karelis and Anna Trevelyan, UK Fashion buyers
While Stavros Karelis is the founder and buying director of MACHINE-A, a London-based independent concept store for men and women, Anna Trevelyan is the co-founder and fashion director of MACHINE-A. In 2009, Stavros and Anna opened MACHINE-A, with the aim of showcasing emerging designers alongside established fashion brands. The store quickly became London’s coolest retail destination. Between them, Stavros and Anna share an array of awards and accomplishments: Stavrosis a recipient of GQ’s35 most successful men under 38 award and Business of Fashion’s 500 shaping the fashion industry. Anna is also a recipient of the BOF 500 (Business of Fashion) award and a two-time winner of the top 3 fashion influencer by The Guardian “Club 100”. Stavros and Anna are both passionate about supporting and developing young fashion brands and design talents through mentorship and giving retail spaces in MACHINE-A.
