Imo state governor, Rochas Okorocha yesterday unveiled a giant statue of South Africa president Jacob Zuma who is on a two day visit in Owerri, Imo state. He was also conferred a traditional chieftaincy title, ‘Ochiagha Imo’ by HRH Samuel Ohiri Owerri, Imo State and a chieftaincy certificate presented to him by former president Olusegun Obasanjo. In addition, the state governor named a road after him in Owerri city and conferred on President Jacob Zuma, the Imo Merit Award, the highest award in the State conferred on distinguished personalities who have made a difference in the development of their communities and to humanity.

Zuma also went on to sign a memorandum of understanding with the Rochas Okorocha Foundation and the Jacob Zuma Foundation in an effort to educate more less privileged African children. He was also taken on trip to assess the over 20,000-hectare, Egbema Industrial Park estimated to cost over N2 billion and the Sam Mbakwe International Cargo Airport all in Imo State.

Meanwhile Nigerians are outraged at Governor Okorocha for being insensitive to the plight of Nigerians in South Africa who are being killed in their numbers but would rather honour their president who can’t halt the killings of Nigerians. Many took to twitter to express their unhappiness at the governor who has little or nothing to show for his six years of governance.
