Nollywood actress, Mercy Johnson-Okojie is getting set to become the wife of a federal lawmaker as her husband, Prince Odi Okojie has won the House of Representatives election on the platform of the All Progressive Congress, APC.
The businessman was declared winner of the Esan North East/South East Federal Constituency in Edo State by the Independent National Electoral Commission in the Saturday general election.
Okojie took to his Instagram page to share a video that captured the moment the returning officer, Dr Victor Imade from the University of Jos, made the declaration on Sunday at the Esan North Local Government Collation Centre in Edo State.
He said Okojie emerged winner of the House of Assembly election in Edo State as he scored a total of 21,764 votes to defeat the PDP candidate who scored 10,007 while LP scored 11,528.
Okojie also shared a video to show the celebratory mood in the city as his supporters storm out in a convoy of cars to jubilate.
He also thanked his party members and followers for their support
