Hip artist, Nicki Minaj who has been on a four year hiatus, is back and not only has she released a new album, ‘Queen’, which will be available to the public on August 10, she is glowing on the July cover of Elle magazine, USA edition. The July edition is particularly interesting because for the first time, the magazine got legendary fashion designer, Karl Lagerfeld, the creative director of famed French fashion house Chanel, to photograph the megastar rapper for the cover. Also both Karl Lagerfeld and the hairstylist for the shoot, Kim Kimble, made a rare appearance in the magazine.
Looking quite regal in all the cover pictures, Nicki Minaj recounts her shock on learning that Karl Lagerfeld would be shooting the cover.
“I wanted to cry. All I do is wear Chanel.” The rapper said that she and Lagerfeld bonded during the shoot, which took place in April in Paris
On her sexually charged persona especially as it relates with her album cover where she wears only elaborate, Egyptian-inspired jewelry, she said, “I love being sexy; I’m never gonna stop being an exhibitionist.”
Ironically, she also expresses regret about how it may influence her female followers. She refers to strippers and Instagram girls as “modern-day prostitutes” after hearing rumors that some may dabble in sex work.
