Olumide Akpata, the president of the Nigerian Bar Association is all set to walk down the aisle with his longtime girlfriend, Osayamon Ogbebor Michelle May.

The traditional wedding is set to hold on May 14, 2022 in her family compound at Ekenwan Road, Benin, Edo State while the reception will hold at Air Force Military Base, Airport Road, Benin, Edo State.

The couple will be joined in holy matrimony on October 2, 2022 in far-away Mauritius.

In a ‘SAVE THE DATE’ flier which has surfaced, Akpata had stated that he popped the question “after a bit of dithering” and his partner said “Yes!”

“Our Families, having now been formally introduced and the necessary consultations having taken place, we are pleased to announce the details of our Wedding nuptials. Please keep Osayamon and me in your prayers even as you make your plans to share in these special moments with us,” Akpata said.

From the influential Ogbebor Family of Bini Kingdom, Edo State, Michelle has a Master of Laws (LLM) degree from the Queen Mary University of London and a Bachelor of Laws degree (LL.B) from the University of Essex.

She is currently a top executive and the Financial Markets Legal Adviser at the Central Securities Clearing System (CSCS) Plc. Nigeria’s Central Securities Depository (CSD) licensed to carry on the depository, clearing and settlement of all transactions in the Nigerian Capital Market.

Osayamon has served in the Legal, Company Secretariat and Compliance Services Directorate for almost three years.

This will be the soon-to-be-50-year-old Akpata’s first marriage. It is unclear if this will be Michelle’s first attempt at matrimony.
