Amidst the rising coronavirus cases in Nigeria, many residents of flouted the covid-19 lock down rules to attend a concert headlined by Azeez Fashola, more popularly referred to as Naira Marley at the Jabi Mall Car Park.

Apparently, this event was initially planned to be a drive-in concert, but things went awry when Naira Marley came onto the stage: people left their cars and flooded the front stage. The rapper didn’t help matters, too; he continued with the performance as though it did not matter. T

his is besdes the fact that he had flown into the city with Big Brother Naija housemate, Kim Oprah, further breaking even the inter-state lock down rules that had been set to curb the spread of the novel coronavirus.

The concert was organized by Play Network Africa, Traffic Bar, El’Carnival and proudly sponsored by Glenfiddich with tickets sold for N20,000 and N250,000.

Only a few months back, Naira Marley was let off the hook by the Lagos State government after paying a fine for violating lockdown rules. He showed up at a birthday party hosted by Nollywood actress, Funke Akindele-Bello, popularly known as Jenifa in honour of her husband, Abdulrasheed Bello, also known as JJC Skillz.
