Amidst accusations of rape and counter reactions, Omodele, wife of the senior pastor of Commonwealth of Zion Assembly, Pastor Biodun Fatoyinbo, the man at the centre of the controversy, says her husband is not a rapist.

Speaking during Sunday, June 30 service, Mrs. Omodele Fatoyinbo vehemently defended her better half saying, “My husband is not a rapist. Even if he was not a believer, he would not be a rapist.”

Her husband, however, took the microphone from her before she could finish her speech, and said: “the elders are handling the matter.”

Busola Dakolo, the wife of singer Timi Dakolo, in an interview with Chude Jidenowo on Friday accused Pastor Biodun Biodun who is the Senior Pastor of the Commonwealth of Zion Assembly (COZA) in Guzape, Abuja of raping her when she was only 17-years-old. According to her, the pastor came to her house one morning unannounced when her mother and sisters were not around and raped her.

“When I was about to react, he covered my mouth and when he did, he said, Busola, listen to me and you will be fine, just do what I want you to do. I didn’t struggle, I just left him and he brought out his penis. I was wearing a nightgown and pant, he pulled down my pant, found difficulty to enter. I was grunting, I would cry and he eventually penetrated, blood dropped on the floor,” she recounted.

Meanwhile Pastor Biodun has denied the rape allegation. A statement from the Office of the Senior Pastor described the claims as “false and criminal”. Although Biodun admitted that Busola Dakolo and her family “attended the church during the early start of the church in 1999”, he claimed “I never had any private interactions with her beyond my pastoral duties.”

He threatened to press charges against Busola and any “individual making such false allegations whether directly or by proxies.”
