The Deputy Commissioner in-charge of the Lagos State Criminal Intelligence and Investigation Department (SCIID), Panti Street, Yaba, Lagos, Yetunde Longe, has warned mothers of online fraudsters known as ‘yahoo boys’ that they would be jailed along with their sons if found guilty by the court.

Longe’s warning came in the wake of a social media report that some mothers of online fraudsters had formed an association known as ‘Association of Yahoo Boys’ Mothers’. The SCIID boss, reacting to the unsubstantiated report yesterday morning on a Lagos Television (LTV) programme, said the ‘Association of Yahoo Boys’ Mothers remains a hear-say until police Investigation finds something different.

“But if it turns out to be true and it is proven that mothers are in any way involved or provided any form of support to the crime, that makes them accomplices and co-conspirators, and they would be made to face the full wrath of the law,” she added.
