Mildred Ehiguese who represented Adamawa State has been crowned the winner of the 41st Miss Nigeria 2017. The former title holder, Chioma Stephanie Obiadi handed over to Mildred Ehiguese in a ceremony that took place at the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos State.
The journey to this year’s finale started in November when auditions were held in three cities of Abuja, Port Harcourt, and Lagos within over a one-week period. From personal photography sessions from Studio 24, using cool photo props, there were also monopoly games and passion project activities to keep the ladies entertained with refreshments.
The auditions started at the Transcorp Hilton Hotel in Abuja on Nov. 7 with an impressive turnout of contestants from the Northern region who showed up for a chance to become the next queen.
Delta State representative, Regina Chinedu was first runner up while Ondo State representative, Ann Benjamin was second runner up. The winner goes home with N5m, a brand new SUV, 6 months acquisition programme in any institution of her choice and a one year serviced apartment. She then goes on to represent Nigeria in the Miss Universe pageant next year.
This year’s edition marks the 60th anniversary of the pageant which began in 1957.
