While the Middle East is known for their conservative nature, Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz is a far cry from being conservative, what with her fashion sense. You won’t be wrong to refer to her as a 21st century Saudi Arabian princess. With her new role as the first Editor-in-Chief of Vogue Arabia that was recently launched in Dubai, here are six things about her that probably gave her the edge for the job.

1.     She is royalty on account t of her marriage to Prince Sultan bin Fahad bin Nasser bin Abdulaziz and is therefore referred to as HRH Princess Deena Aljuhani Abdulaziz

2.     She is a mother of three

3.     Christian Louboutin, named a shoe after her in recognition of her stylish nature

4.     She is a working royal who doesn’t like to be confined in the palace. In addition to her tasks as a Princess, she runs D’NA, a fashion business comprised of two members-only stores and a Farfetch.com affiliation where shoppers can find everything from brands like Miu Miu and Haider Ackermann to M2Malletier and Maison Martin Margiela.

5.     She likes to discover talent. She has a history of discovering and nurturing design talent like Prabal Gurung, Jason Wu, Mary Katrantzou and Erdem, all accomplished in their field. She also supports local talent in her native Riyadh, through a scheme that is supported by the Dubai Design and Fashion Council.

6.     She is 41 years old and is so damn chic.
