Meet Muyiwa Atoyebi, Nigeria’s youngest SAN ever at 34

A graduate of the University of Ilorin, Muyiwa Atoyebi is among the 38 lawyers to be conferred with the senior advocate of Nigeria (SAN) title. Aged 34, Muyiwa Atoyebi is the youngest Nigerian lawyer elevated to that height.

SAN is conferred on Nigerian lawyers who have practiced for not less than 10 years, and have achieved distinction in the profession.

A managing partner at Omaplex law firm, Muyiwa is in charge of the firm’s government business practice as well as litigation, international dispute resolution, maritime and shipping law amongst others. He is presently a team leader of the Emerging Areas of Practice of the Firm, which focuses on public expenditure management, project and corporate finance, privatization, general corporate governance, compliance, obtaining practicing licenses and approval by regulatory agencies. He is a trusted advisor to many government agencies and international organizations including CBN, NPF, Nigerian Military e.t.c.

In a statement, Hadizatu Mustapha, secretary of the Legal Practitioners’ Privileges Committee (LPPC) said the new SANs would be sworn in during the 2019/2020 new legal year of the supreme court in September.
