For many Nigerians who had not heard about Dozie Mmobuosi, CEO, Tingo Group of Companies, until recently, they have his front man, Ebuwa Martins, to thank for ensuring that the controversial ‘billionaire’ became a media sensation in a short time.

Ebuwa Agbonwanetan Martins was appointed as Tingo’s Managing Director and the Chief Operating Officer of Dozy Mmobuosi Foundation (DMF) in 2022.

He is the one pulling all the strings regarding Tingo’s activities in the business space, some of which have been denied by the reputable companies involved.

Since Dozie left the country for Brazil, Martins has allegedly been the one keeping and controlling Tingo’s money in Nigeria.

He masterminded some of Tingo’s sponsorship deals including a recent music award.

Being in charge of Tingo’s money in Nigeria turned Martins, hitherto a struggling media lobbyist, into an overnight millionaire with an insatiable appetite for expensive cars and a luxurious lifestyle. He is also allegedly preparing to move into a luxury apartment at Park View Estate, Ikoyi.

His new lifestyle and other activities are a cover up for Dozie who is reported to be on the run. Martins has to live up to the hype of his boss as a billionaire businessman but without a traceable antecedent.

It would be recalled that Tingo Group lied about many things, especially its $1.6 billion Food Processing Plant as well as some of its partnerships and products.

Checks with the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) revealed that it has no record of Tingo being a mobile licensee at all, despite the company’s claims of having twelve million Mobile Customers.

In one of the reports, it has been revealed that Tingo Group Inc is an exceptionally obvious scam with completely fabricated financial records.

Tingo claimed its Mobile Handset Leasing, Call and Data segments generated $128 million in revenue last quarter and that these services are provided through an agreement with Airtel in Nigeria. According to our investigation, the type of license they claim did not exist until June, 2023.

This fraudulent act has made Airtel Africa to dissociate themselves from the scandal, declaring they do not want to have anything to do with Tingo Inc anymore.
