Funke Akindele, the running mate of the Peoples Democratic Party Lagos State governorship candidate, Olajide Adediran, Tuesday, 12 July, has finally ditched her husband’s surname, Bello as she delves into politics.
Funke Akindele has excluded the surname of her estranged husband from her campaign poster.
Earlier, Akindele was confirmed as the running mate of Olajide Jandor Adediran.
Abdulrasheed Bello, who is popularly known as JJC Skillz, had separated from Akindele, halting their six-year marriage.
In Akindele’s campaign poster released via her social handles, the actress excluded JJC Skillz’s surname.
According to The Cable, Bello is still affixed to her full name across her social handles.
Akindele earlier spoke of her political ambition and reiterated her commitment to bettering youth welfare.
“When the PDP gubernatorial candidate asked me to be his running mate, I saw it as an opportunity to help liberate and improve the welfare of our people, particularly the deprived youth, women, and the girl child.
“My decision is not only to accept this huge responsibility but also to work tirelessly and complement Jandor’s burning desire.
“Over the years, a lot of young people have been ignored, victimized, and maimed for daring to have a dream.
“I use this opportunity to call out all well-meaning residents of Lagos, it is indeed time to use our numeric strength to our full advantage,” she added.
