Olivier Rousteing of Balmain has teamed up with Kylie Kardashian for a new collaboration with speakers and headphones brand, Beats by Dre. It is not surprising that he picked Kylie Kardashian for the collaboration given his closeness to the family that are all members of the Balmain army who have all fronted for the design house in campaigns and walked the fashion house’s runway shows.
His reason for collaborating with the headphone brand is not farfetched. Rousteing believes that music and fashion are intertwined making it only natural for Balmain to jump on board.
According to the youthful designer, “Anyone who’s been following the story so far knows that there are two basic truths about our unique DNA: Balmain celebrates the strength and beauty inherent in diversity and sees fashion as inseparable from music. We simply cannot conceive of one without a full helping of the other. Beats gets that, too.”
The new collection is safari-themed, with each piece colored caramel-gold or khaki, with matching accents and cases, all emblazoned with Balmain and of course, the Beats logo. Luxurious in design and achingly cool, the two-piece collection consists of a pair of Powerbeats3 Wireless and the classic Beats Studio Wireless headphones.
