Detained Kemi Olunloyo, has finally been granted bail by a Federal High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, the Rivers State capital.

The controversial journalist and blogger, who had been in custody at the Port Harcourt prison for over a month, was granted bail in the sum of N1 million after a hearing on Tuesday.

Olunloyo got into trouble last month when the Nigerian police charged her with cyber crime following a blog post in which she accused popular Port Harcourt-based pastor, David Ibiyeomie of adultery.

Her detention dragged on after she failed to meet bail conditions during the last hearing a fortnight ago at the Federal High Court, Port Harcourt.

The daughter of a former Governor of Oyo State, Governor Victor Omololu Olunloyo, Olunloyo gained notoriety for posting scandalous pieces about prominent individuals.
