Amid the Omoni Oboli/Jude Idada legal drama, it seems like Kemi Adetiba is protecting herself from any possible legal drama that might rear its head in the future. The film director took to her social media to call out writers she says sends her unsolicited scripts, noting that such moves exposes them to risk.
“PLS stop sending me unsolicited scripts or film ideas. I delete as soon as I see title. It exposes us both,” the ‘Wedding Party’ director said.
“I thoroughly understand the drive and hunger to break out, but you really shouldn’t send out finished scripts or film ideas without some written legal protection anyway,” she continued on her Instagram.
“I appreciate it, but I delete as soon as I see the words ‘…this great idea/script.‘ I have a first degree in law.. I ain’t playing with y’all, ” she concluded.
The warning comes just days after a Lagos High Court Judge ordered the seizure of Omoni Oboli’s ‘Okafor’s Law’ following the copyright infringement/trademark violation case filed against her by Raconteur Productions Ltd, on behalf of the writer Jude Idada.
