Vogue magazine has chosen Katy Perry and Rihanna to grace the cover of its annual Met Gala issue. The choice to have them on the cover is not farfetched. They both interpreted the fashion event’s theme, Heavenly Bodies: Fashion & The Catholic Imagination, best and in the process, stirred up controversy. While Katy Perry wore a Versace gown adorned with massive angel wings, this year’s Gala co-host Rihanna wore an ornate gown designed by John Galliano for Maison Margiela and a pope-like head gear.
This is Katy Perry’s second year in a row on the cover. Last year she was featured with Pharrell Williams. Also, it is Rihanna’s second time on the cover as well. She was on the cover of the 2015 issue, wearing her famed gold Guo Pei gown and with Beyoncé shared the 2014 cover, wearing a white midriff revealing Stella McCartney gown. She has attended the event a total of eight times, starting in 2007.
Besides showcasing all of the guests who attended the fashion event, super model, Kendall Jenner had some of her photos which she took exclusively at the event, published.
