Fashion icon, Karl Lagerfeld is dead. Karl who was the head designer for fashion label, Chanel. since 1983. His death comes just weeks after he didn’t appear at his now famous fashion shows during Paris Haute Couture week for Chanel. Confirming his death via an announcement, the fashion house added that the fashion icon, known as the known as the “Kaiser” in the fashion industry had plans to debut his own fashion line which was still announcing new design collaborations. He also collaborated with high street brand, H&M.
85 year old German born Karl Lagerfeld joined the fashion world after emigrating from Germany to Paris by becoming a design assistant for Pierre Balmain, founder of fashion label, Balmain. He ended up becoming the artistic director of four separate fashion brands in all his years in fashion; Italy’s Fendi, France’s Chanel, said to be the world’s richest label, Chloe and his own eponymous line.
Karl was always, as instantly recognisable as his celebrity clients with his powder white pony tail, black sunglasses and starched high-collared white shirts.
