World’s richest man and Amazon CEO, Jeff Bezos and his wife, MacKenzie, are going their separate ways after a 25-year marriage. The couple who took to twitter to make a joint statement said they would continue their shared lives as friends. But there is more to why 54 Jeff and 48 year old MacKenzie are divorcing. According to multiple reports, Jeff Bezos an estimated wealth of $137bn, some $45bn ahead of Bill Gates, has a new love interest and has been secretly seeing former Good Day L.A. co-host, Lauren Sanchez.

According to Page Six reports, Jeff Bezos and Sanchez became acquainted through her husband, Patrick Whitesell who is the co-CEO of the major Hollywood agency WME which represents some of the biggest names in the industry, including Matt Damon, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Ryan Reynolds, John Krasinski and Michelle Williams. The Whitehalls who recently got separated were regulars at Bezos’ Seattle-area home.

They got married in 2005 and have two children together; a 10-year-old daughter and 12-year-old son. Sanchez also has an 18-year-old son from her first husband, former NFL star Tony Gonzalez. Sanchez runs her own company called Black Ops Aviation which is an aerial filming company. She is a helicopter pilot and has worked on films such as Dunkirk and Miss Bala. The 49-year-old business owner also worked on a few videos for Blue Origin, which is Bezos’ aerospace company.

With Jeff Bezos’ net worth at over $136 billion dollars, MacKenzie who is a novelist, the author of ‘The Testing of Luther Albright’ (2005) and ‘Traps’ (2013), will likely get a significant amount of of Jeff Bezos’ money since they live in Washington state where property is split between husband and wife, thus making her end up as one of the wealthiest people in the world, perhaps the 5th richest person in the world and by far, the richest woman in the world if the assets are shared evenly. Both have four children together.
