At a period major fashion houses are struggling to sell their luxury fashion items and some high end fashion houses are looking at buying out others, Jada Dubai, a design house with a modest social media has unveiled a pair of gold patent leather stilettos trimmed with a row of sparkling diamonds in their hundreds costing $17m. Jada Dubai, the Dubai-based shoemaker says it is the world’s most expensive pair of shoes.
Each shoe features a crowning jewel: a round, 15 carat flawless D-diamond near the pointed toe. The one-of-a-kind shoes are a European size 36 (US 5.5, UK 3.5) and can be custom-made to the client’s size – after he or she pays full retail price.
The price of the pair of shoes goes over and above that of British designer, Debbie Wingham who created the world’s most expensive shoes a few months ago. Her own pairs which she made for an unnamed indigene based in the United Arab Emirates was valued at $15.1 million and featured extremely rare large pink and blue diamonds which alone cost more than $13 million (£9.8 million) alongside four flawless three-carat white diamonds and 1000 pointer diamonds framing some of the iced cake-like detailing.
Hers are a bit more elaborate than that of Jada Dubai with its zippers and plaque beneath the shoes crafted from solid gold and every one of the precious stones set using platinum. The handmade stilettos were made from leather painted with 24 carat gold paint and sewed together with 18 carat gold thread. Each one is adorned with Arabian Jasmin flowers, also made from leather, and the inside includes gold thread embellished inlay.
